The first networking event at Pencalenick school in February had a wonderful turnout despite it being just before half term. SENCOs, headteachers and teachers enjoyed chatting over tea and cake in a relaxed atmosphere and making new connections. 

The school tour that followed proved popular and really useful for our mainstream colleagues to gain an insight into life in a special school. I think they were surprised to find how similar it felt to their schools! But lots of ideas were taken away around displays, set up and inclusive practices. 

Our second networking event will be taking place at Doubletrees school, giving attendees a very different insight from Pencalenick. The feedback from the last event was asking for SPT or other SEND Practitioners to have a short slot to share ideas or best practice. So this time around SPT will be sharing insights from the recent success of SIAG and some other exciting pieces of work- so come along to find out more, gather insights and meet others in similar roles to you! 

We hope to host a final networking event before we all break for summer and may well be asking if any schools would like to share any successes or ideas they think other schools would find interesting.
