Exciting Opportunity: Chair of Governors for Bosvena School and Castlebridge School

We are delighted that two new Free Schools will be joining The Special Partnership Trust, Bosvena School and Castlebridge School.

Bosvena School in Bodmin is proposed to open in September 2025.  The school will cater for children and young people aged 5 – 16. At capacity it will provide places for 65 pupils who will have struggled to access or fully and successfully participate in mainstream provision as their identified need can act as a barrier in their interactions with others and to their learning (engagement). The Special Partnership Trusts intent is to provide an outstanding special school for pupils with SEMH needs; a school which celebrates neurodiversity by accepting, respecting, recognising and responding accordingly to developmental difference shaping pupil’s educational offer to inform/ improve outcomes.

Castlebridge School is proposed to open in September 2026, with a smaller hub site opening in September 2025.  Castlebridge School in Ivybridge will provide a specialist provision for 120 pupils between Year 3 – Year 11 with high functioning Autism Spectrum Condition as their primary need.  The hub in Tavistock will facilitate access to Ivybridge provision before the opening date of September 2026.  It will provide an opportunity for extended focused transition and in parallel develop the offer at Tavistock as a sustained, effective specialist for pupils in Devon.

We are at the exciting stage of development where we are starting to form a Local Governing Body (LGB) for both schools.  The LGBs will consist of co-opted (community), parents and staff governors.

We are seeking to appoint dynamic and dedicated individuals to join us as the Chair of Governors.  This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our schools and making a lasting impact on the education of our students.
