The Special Partnership Trust is currently seeking to appoint a new Trustee. This role involves overseeing the governance and strategic direction of the Trust, which is dedicated to providing the highest quality of education and providing the best opportunities to all young people. As a growing Trust with schools spanning across three Local Authorities we are looking to appoint Trustees from Cornwall and the Devon/Torbay area to join our existing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance and Oversight: Ensuring the Trust adheres to its mission and values.
- Strategic Planning: Contributing to the development and implementation of the Trust’s strategic plans.
- Financial Management: Overseeing the financial performance of the Trust to ensure sustainability.
- Compliance: Ensuring the Trust complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Previous experience in governance or a similar role is desirable.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking and a commitment to the Trust’s mission.
- Attributes: Integrity, dedication, and the ability to work collaboratively with other Trustees and stakeholders.
Time Commitment:
- Attend approximately three Trust Board meetings per year and three Sub-Committee meetings per year, each lasting around two hours (one per term).
- Carry out a link Trustee visit to one of the schools in the Trust, once a term.
- Particulate in statutory safeguarding training and other training as required.
- If required be willing to take part in Headteacher recruitment processes as well as panel meetings.
